What it costs to keep this running
¿Cómo Ayudo? is free for whoever uses it, and it will stay that way. But free does not mean it has no cost.
Every month there are servers, a database and verification messages to pay for. And there is one line that costs more than all of them and shows the least: the artificial intelligence this platform is built and maintained with. Much of what you see —the map, the forms, the checks that keep a false entry from travelling far— was written with AI, and every improvement carries a usage cost that adds up.
One person keeps this platform running, not an organisation. There is no foundation, no company, no budget behind it. When the bill arrives, someone pays it out of their own pocket.
This is not a donation for disaster victims
Let it be clear, because it is the difference between trusting this platform or not.
The money that arrives here does not go to the affected families. It keeps running the tool neighbours coordinate with. If you want to help someone who lost everything, the app shows you what is missing and where: that goes straight there, with nothing passing through us.
We will never handle donations for disaster victims. What the community gives goes straight to whoever receives it.
If you want to contribute
Any amount helps. There are no goals, no progress bars, no rewards. If one month brings in more than it costs, the surplus stays for the month nothing comes in.
And if you cannot, or would rather not
That is fine. There is something that helps more than you think: reporting a shelter that is no longer taking people, confirming a point that is still open, fixing a wrong address. Correct information in time is worth more than money, and that part is yours to give.
